Jytte Kornbeck Loeppenthin
I live and work in Copenhagen. My professional background is an education as a designer at Institute of Precious Metal. I’m primarily operating with modeling small characters in wax and then moulding them in silver and let them feature in a variety of narratives together with other materials as for instance amber and wood. Humour, poetry and naivety are all important keywords in my creations that often are about relations, friendship, peace and other trends in the society.
"Jytte Kornbeck Loeppenthin's jewelry send signals. They ask, they wonder and they crave attention. See me! Meet me! Talk to me! The humorous and whimsical jewelry create contact and make way for common poetry about the jewelry itself and the one carrying it.
Whether it be unica or collections, there is always a story being told or created. The tiny shapes are like imaginary creatures. They derive from a childish and curious place within ourselves. A place we have almost forgotten.
Created in silver they stand, sit and lie together or alone. The want to be seen, touched and carried"
